Resumen
Until now, the Hindu origins of Catarina de San Juan, the historical china poblana, had remained in the realm of myth. This article offers new information on the matter, and explores the relatio'nships between the baroque painting of New Spain and the visions of this «daugliter" of the Company of Jesus, within the context of the culture of mysticism,of the viceroyalty. As a double contextualization, the article secks to understand the life history of the china poblana and her character as a mystic.Descargas
