Abstract

A late síxteenth century drawing by Diego Muñoz Camargo permits the author to confirm the síngularity of the architecture of the monastery of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción ín Tlaxcala: an atipical work, no doubt because it was one of the first monasteries in New Spain, some of the solutions adopted there would be integrated into later buildings, and others were rejected. The artícle compares the elements present in the drawings and some to the informafion of the chronicle of Muñoz Camargo with the structures still extant and wíth others that have disappeared.
