Abstract

The author of this article analyzes silver objects which were made during the colonial period and that are now preserved in Brazilian museums. Many of these pieces come from Argentina, especially from the region of Rio de la Plata. Moving away of traditional paradigms, the author demonstrates the preeminence of Portuguese aesthetic patterns over those of Peru. She correlates this with a historical review of the migratory movements among the main ports of Argentina and Brazil
